Prof. Okazaki researched under Prof. Embery when he studied abroad. Various topics were discussed such as international exchange with Cardiff University, dental affairs in Japan and the United Kingdom, joint researches, and the latest trends in dentistry. Prof. Waddington look forward to welcoming students from Osaka Dental University to Cardiff.

When ODU celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, an academic exchange agreement was signed with the School of Dentistry of Cardiff University. After this agreement, Prof. Okazaki, who has experience studying at Cardiff University (formerly known as University of Whales), and his research associate, Prof. Waddington, has continued joint research contributing to international exchange between both schools.

Recently, Prof. Waddington and fellow researchers received funds in the United Kingdom enabling a new joint research with ODU. The two professors have kept playing a central role in international cooperative research in the field of biomaterials for more than twenty years. Their joint research will continue at our university and shortly approach completion.
