Learning about human rights of patients and cultivating awareness as a dentist contributing to society
Respect for human rights of patients is becoming more and more important in health care today. Legal disputes over dental practice are also on the rise. Department of Human Rights Education deals in various human rights issues in Japanese society, including those of patients' rights in clinical settings. Students will learn not only the human rights to be respected in patient care but also how dentists are able to contribute to solving social problems such as child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness, and cultivate awareness as a dentist contributing to society through the lectures on human rights and law.
