OSAKA DENTAL UNIVERSITY

About Graduate School of Dentistry

The Graduate School of Dentistry, Osaka Dental University was founded in April 1961. The mission of the school is to foster educators and researchers who play an important role in the future of dentistry and also foster clinicians with the scientific ability. Based on the finding spirit of the university 'Philanthropy and Public Interest,' we have made efforts to foster researchers who aim to create and develop human-oriented dentistry and medical care.
Currently, there are 10 major courses in Basic Science and 14 major courses in Clinical Dentistry. We have established a system in which each graduate student has an instructor under the supervising professor of the major subject. These instructors assist the educational guidance and research guidance. In cooperation with the university and university hospital, we provide students with full research facilities so that they can conduct independent research activities about their major field.

To broaden the horizon of students, we support overseas research presentations and also have a system in which researchers studying at universities or other schools overseas after finishing the graduate school are specially employed as our faculty members. Also, we invite well-known domestic and overseas lecturers to hold special lecture meetings so that students can acquire knowledge in the new area. We proactively employ graduate students as teaching assistants and provide support such as helping students accumulate training to become teachers.
