Expected Career

The doctoral (latter) program in the Course of Oral Sciences, the Graduate School of Health Sciences produces not only competent educators and researchers in oral sciences, namely oral health science or oral engineering, but also people with teaching skills, and personnel management and operation competencies for educational and research institutions.
Dental hygienists and dental technicians are expected to be needed at educational institutions, especially universities. Therefore, we consider a faculty member of a college/university that offers a training course for dental hygienists or dental technicians as the primary career path after completion of the doctoral (latter) program in the Course of Oral Sciences, the Graduate School of Health Sciences. Our graduates may also attain a managerial position as a professor or an associate professor by accumulating accomplishments at the university where they work. Some may become experts in oral health science and oral engineering or faculty members in School of Dentistry who provide education and guidance for researchers.
Other than university faculty members, we expect that some also will become teachers and managers at vocational schools to train dental hygienists and dental technicians, and that others may work at medical institutions, research institutions, or companies related to dental care and play their roles as trainers and managers, by leveraging their advanced expertise and skills as well as their abilities as leaders and managers.
