Eligibility Requirements
A person who meets all of the following requirements ① to ③
- A person who has no Japanese nationality (excluding a permanent resident, special permanent resident as stipulated in the Immigration Law for Special Cases in Japan, such as a person who has lost Japanese nationality under the Treaty of Peace with Japan, and a foreign national who has graduated, or is expected to graduate by the end of March 2026, from a high school in Japan), and who has or is expected to obtain a residential status of “student” at the time of enrollmen

A person who falls under any of the following (1) to (7)
- A person who completed or is expected to complete the 12-year school education through regular courses
- A person who completed or is expected to complete by the end of March 2026, a 12-year or longer school for foreign students in Japan, designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan as equivalent to a high school abroad
- A person who completed or is expected to complete by the end of March 2026, an upper secondary course of a special training college designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan
- A person who completed or is expected to complete by the end of March 2026, the admission preparation course designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan *1
- A person who passed or is expected to pass a high school equivalency test that is deemed equivalent to completion of a 12-year program in Japan or abroad *2
- A person who has an international baccalaureate, Abitur, or baccalaureate degree
- A person who is deemed to have the scholastic ability equivalent to or higher than high school graduates by Osaka Dental University through an individual screening for entrance eligibility

A person who falls under any of the following categories (1) to (5) and who, if admitted, will be able to understand classes in Japanese
- A person who passed the N2 level or higher of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
- A person who has “220 points (including written score) or higher in Japanese” on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) *Only the results from the most recent two years are valid.
- A person who has “600 points or higher in the A-C level test (C grade)” on the Practical Japanese Proficiency Test (J-TEST)
- A person who has a score of 525 or higher on the JPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test)
- A person who has been recognized by Osaka Dental University as having Japanese language proficiency equivalent to or greater than those listed in 1) to 4) higher through an individual screening for entrance eligibility * and who have reached the age of 18.
*1 If primary/secondary education offered in his/her home country is less than 12 years, an applicant should have completed or is expected to complete by the end of March 2026, “a preparatory curriculum for admission to a university in Japan,” designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. An applicant must be 18 years old or older.
*2 An application is accepted if an applicant passed an examination equivalent to the Upper Secondary School Equivalency Examination in Japan, even if he/she did not graduate from a high school due to withdrawal, for example. However, an applicant must be 18 years old or older.

- The number of credits earned must be indicated in either academic transcript, certificate of graduation, or certificate of completion.
- Submitting Academic Transcript
- Obtain transcript sealed tightly by the high school the applicant graduated. (This shall not apply when there are unavoidable circumstances such as translation by an official institution.)
- If it is not written in Japanese or English, a translation to either language must be attached with certification by the high school the applicant graduated from or belongs to, an official institution such as the embassy or public translation company etc. (excluding Japanese language schools) which attests the translation is a true and accurate copy of the original document.
- If there is a guide for curriculum of the high school the applicant graduated from or belongs to, attach to the transcript.
- If there is no format for official academic transcript within the education system, the format is not specified. However, include the applicant’s grade point average and scholastic rank if possible.
If it is not possible to submit academic transcript, submit alternative documents such as a copy of scholastic evaluation reports for each semester.
- Submitting Certificate of Graduation or Completion
- Obtain original certificate of (expected) graduation or completion with (expected) month and year of graduation. If (expected) month and year of graduation is written on the academic transcript, submission of these documents is not required.
- Obtain certificate sealed tightly by the high school the applicant graduated. (This shall not apply when there are unavoidable circumstances such as translation by an official institution etc.)
- If it is not written in Japanese or English, a translation to either language must be attached with certification by the high school the applicant graduated from or belongs to, an official institution such as the embassy or public translation company etc. (excluding Japanese language schools) which attests the translation is a true and accurate copy of the original document.

- If there is no certificate of graduation or diploma under the educational system, submit a document which states there is no certificate corresponding to it.

At 3:00 p.m. of the day of announcement of results, notice of acceptance or rejection will be available Post@net by clicking the “Confirmation of the Examination Result” button within the “Application confirmation” page.(Release period: Until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026)
On the same day, a letter of acceptance, etc. will be sent to applicants who passed the examination by postal mail (It will arrive after the day of the announcement of the results or later.).Note 1: We will not respond to any inquiries about acceptance or rejection by telephone, etc.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their alignment with the qualities outlined in the Admissions Policy, as well as the extent to which they have acquired the expected academic knowledge and skills prior to enrollment.
Essay
Understanding of the given task, logical thinking skills, writing skills, and basic knowledge will be evaluated.
Interview
Applicants will be asked about their reasons for application, motivation for learning, etc., and will be evaluated comprehensively based on their suitability to the Admission Policy.

Selection Method
To assess the three aspects of academic ability (“skill and knowledge,” “the abilities to think, decide, and express,” and “the attitude to learn through active collaboration with various people”) along with the diversity of the examinee, application documents including “Recommendation Letter” and “Essay of Ambitions After Entrance,” basic academic test, essay, and interview will be evaluated and acceptance decided based on the total scores.
However, regardless of the total score, a significantly low score for the essay or interview may indicate insufficient understanding of Japanese and could still lead to disqualification.

Refund of School Payment in Case of Withdrawal from Enrollment
When declining enrollment after the completion of enrollment registration, complete steps 01 to 03 by Monday, March 23, 2026.
- Notify the school of the withdrawal from admission by phone.
- Confirm the examination number, name, reason for withdrawal, and applicant information.
- Reception hours: 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. (Except Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays. However, we will be open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from March 14 to 29, 2026.)

- Submit “Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment”
- Fill out and stamp the necessary sections of ‛Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment' enclosed with the admission documents, and return by FAX.(FAX: 072-864-3250)
- If sending by Fax is difficult, attach the PDF file or a similar format of the “Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment” to an email. (E-mail: nyushi@cc.osaka-dent.ac.jp)
- Promptly send the completed ‛Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment' (original) and the ‛Letter of Acceptance' by post to the address below. When doing so, write “入学辞退届在中 (Contains Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment )” in red on the front of the envelope.

If the “Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment” is submitted by Monday, March 23, 2026 (deliveries postmarked with deadline will be accepted), payment not including entrance fee will be refunded approximately two weeks after we receive your application documents. When declining enrollment between Tuesday, March 24, 2026 and 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 due to unavoidable circumstances, first contact the Admission Center by phone and immediately submit “Notification of Withdrawal from Enrollment” and “Letter of Acceptance.” Payment not including entrance fee will be refunded in April.
*Once paid, the entrance fee will not be refunded for any reason. (Please note that the Admission Center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays excluding the period from March 14 to 29, 2026.)
Things to Note
[1] Application
- We will not accept an application if documents are incomplete.
- We will not return the submitted documents.
[2] Precautions on the day of examination
1) Entry into and seating in the examination room
- Entrance to the campus is allowed from 8:00 a.m.
- Examinees should enter the room by 20 minutes before the start of the examination.
- Examinees who are late 20 minutes or more after the start of the examination will not be allowed to take the examination.
- Examinees who contracted COVID-19, Influenza, Norovirus and have not healed yet should contact the Admission Center(TEL: 072-864-5511)in advance.
- Be sure to bring the examination admission card. On the day of the examination, you need to always carry the examination admission card with you. If you lost or forgot to bring the examination admission card on the day of the examination, go to the Testing Division and receive a admission card.
- Take a seat where your examination number is displayed, and place your admission card at a position that is clearly visible from the aisle.
- There will be no clocks in the examination room. On the day of the examination, please bring your own watch or clock, timing function only, with you. Please note that clocks will not be loaned out.
- The test supervisor may instruct to temporarily remove the mask for verifying your identification with your photo, etc.
2) Handling of personal belongings
- In addition to the admission card, items allowed to be placed on the desk during the examination are: black lead pencils (No. 1 or 2; HB or B), pencil cap, mechanical pencils with black leads (No. 1 or 2; HB or B), erasers, pencil sharpeners (excluding electric or large-size sharpeners and knives), watch or clock (excluding those with functions other than timing, devices which are difficult to identify their functions, those making ticking sounds, kitchen timers, and large clocks), eye glasses, handkerchief, tissue paper (out of a bag or box), and eye-drops. If you use or place other personal belongings, we may temporarily suspend your examination and hold them until the end of the examination.
- Do not use mobile phones, smartphones, wearable devices, electronic dictionaries, IC recorders, or other electronics or noisy devices. Before entering the examination room, be sure to unset the alarm, turn off the power, and keep it in your bag. If you hold any of these items during the examination (either holding in your hand or in a pocket of your clothe you wear) or place them on a desk without keeping them in your bag, it can be deemed as cheating. In addition, if a cell phone or other device rings in a bag during the examination, the bag may be taken out of the examination room without the examinee's permission.
- Do not wear clothing that has English letters or mathematical symbols printed on it. Those who are wearing such clothing may be instructed to remove it.
3) Precautions at the time of examination
- Supervisors distribute examination papers before the start of examination. Do not touch examination papers until instructed.
- Be sure to enter the examination number and name at the start of the examination.
- Do not leave the examination room during the examination.If you wish to leave the room during the examination for an inevitable reason, for example when you feel sick or need to use the bathroom, etc., raise your hand and follow the instructions of the supervisor.
- No relief measures will be taken if daily living noise, etc. (for example, sound of supervisors' footsteps or conversation required for them to fulfill their task, airplane, automobile, wind, rain, air conditioning, cough, sneezing, sniffling of other examinees, brief ringing of a cell phone, clock, and chimes of a surrounding building) occurs during the examination.
4) The following actions may be considered as acts of dishonesty:
- Cheating (using cheat sheets or reference books, looking at other applicants' answers, receiving answers or hints from other applicants, or providing answers or hints to other applicants, etc.)
- Using tools that are not permitted (as mentioned above)
- Not following the supervisor's instructions in the examination room
- Taking the test paper or answer sheet out of the examination room without the supervisor's permission during the examination
- Someone other than the applicant taking the examination in place of the applicant
If any act of dishonesty is observed during the examination, the supervisor may issue a warning and instruct the applicant(s) to cease the examination or leave the examination room. Even if there is time to address the suspicion of dishonesty, the applicant(s) cannot request an extension of the examination time. If dishonesty is confirmed, the applicant(s) will be barred from taking further examinations, and all results from the entrance selection process for that academic year at Osaka Dental University will be invalidated. Additionally, the entrance examination fee will not be refunded. Furthermore, if applicants who have already passed or are on the waiting list from previous entrance selections at Osaka Dental University are found to engage in dishonesty in subsequent examinations, their earlier results will be retroactively canceled.
5) Additional information
- Parking is not available for cars or motorcycles at the examination site. Use public transportation.
- Keep quiet inside the examination site.
- Applicants are allowed to enter only designated areas.
- Lunch is to be brought and taken at designated seat.
- There is no waiting room for parents, etc. Please note in advance.
- If applicants do not take all the examinations in the entrance selection process, they will be disqualified.
- If you have a physical disability and require special considerations during the entrance examination, or if you need any support after enrollment, please inform the Admission Center at least one month prior to the entrance selection process you wish to take. Depending on the severity and type of disability, a preliminary interview may be conducted as necessary.
