Educational Goal

As the study to chemically understand life phenomena, biochemistry forms the basis for understanding pathological conditions, as well as for diagnosing, treating a disease, and developing drugs, in the fields of medicine and dental medicine. We develop researchers who have the ability to understand and elucidate various phenomena related to the oral region at a molecular level, combined with the ability to comprehend the latest information with an international mind.

Research Contents

With the theme of "basic research toward development of new periodontal tissue regeneration therapy," we will clarify the functions of cells related to periodontal tissue regeneration and search for factors influencing expression of these functions.

Features of this major / Prospects following course completion

We encourage researches among young researchers so they can become familiar with biochemical research methods. Our another goal is to foster international minds, by proactively presenting research results at international academic conferences, etc.

Members are expected to play a role in undergraduate education as a person who mastered basic and clinical studies of dental medicine, as well as in international activities, including potential participation in overseas programs as a researcher.
