Features of this major / Prospects following course completion

There are two research groups in Geriatric Dentistry: one research group working for topics exclusive to the Department and another working jointly with attendees of basic courses. The researches are led primarily by graduate school professors and faculty members representing each research group, in addition to some undergraduate faculty members.

A student who completed the graduate school may choose to be engaged in any of the following activities:

  • Being certified as a specialist of the Japan Prosthodontic Society, a specialist of Japanese Society of Gerontology, and a dentist specialized in dysphagia rehabilitation
  • Continuing research and guidance as a university faculty member
