Educational Goal

We foster prosthodontists with specialized and creative research capabilities for dental prosthodontics, deep knowledge and excellent skills.

Research Contents

1. Development of functional and aesthetic repair methods using digital technology

2. Establishment of a new test for prosthetic occlusion treatment

  1. (1) Three-dimensional occlusion test method considering the viscoelasticity of living organisms
  2. (2) Assessment of oral environment by a saliva test
  3. (3) Root membrane touch-pressure sensation threshold in healthy dental subjectsa

3. Development and improvement of functional and esthetic restoration methods and materials

  1. (1) Research on telescope crown using zirconia
  2. (2) Research on the effects of atmospheric pressure plasma treatment
  3. (3) Psychometric evaluation of dental esthetics applying eye-tracking technology

4. Relationship between occlusion, whole body and food

  1. (1) Relation between preferences for food and line of sight in the elderly
  2. (2) Relationship between occlusal contact and center of gravity fluctuation

Features of this major / Prospects following course completion

With the research guidance system to guide objective conclusions based on clinical evidence, we proactively disseminate research results through presentations at academic conferences, printed publications, and websites. Students also can learn in group ses sions to read research papers related to prosthodontics share case presentations, or exercise using statistical software etc.

For prosthodontic treatment utilizing periodontal sensations, scientifically-based examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and postoperative management are practiced, and members will be qualified as a prosthodontic specialist. After completion of the program, members will have an opportunity to continue research.
