Educational Goal

Students learn diagnoses of and advanced treatment systems, such as for temporomandibular joint/masticatory muscle disorders and temporomandibular joint diseases (particularly temporomandibular arthrosis and similar diseases), jaw deformity, oral tumors (particularly oral cancer), and regenerative medicine of the maxillofacial area, and conduct related research. They also aim to acquire the certificate of oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

  • Research on the etiology and treatment of temporomandibular arthrosis
  • Research on development of new therapies for orthognathic surgery
  • Research on oral cancer stem cells and molecular targeted therapies
  • Research on regenerative medicine for the maxillofacial area

Features of this major / Prospects following course completion

Continuing the clinical training of oral and maxillofacial surgery and aiming to acquire the certificate of oral and maxillofacial surgery specialists and instructors.

Studying abroad at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, King’s College London, the Department of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, University of Bern, etc.

Having medical anesthesia training and general management training at anesthesiology departments of related hospitals such as National Hospital Organization Osaka National Hospital and Osaka Red Cross Hospital.
