Educational Goal

Members will learn clinical medicine with a focus on pathophysiology, pharmacology, and internal medicine, considered as the basis of dental anesthesiology, which is used for acute phase general management in the dental field. They will acquire knowledge, skills, and attitude to promote researches in the fields of anesthesiology, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.

Research Contents

  • Study on injury-induced neural stem cells
  • Elucidation of the mechanism of expression of NGF involved in pain
  • Analysis of atmospheric contamination levels of inhalation anesthetics
  • Study on brain ischemic tolerance
  • Clinical monitor study to help predict the onset of systemic incidental diseases, etc.

Features of this major / Prospects following course completion

We are dedicated to research activities by assigning a graduate school faculty member or another instructor to each research group. We conduct joint researches with the Laboratory of Neurogenesis and CNS Repair, the Institute for Advanced Medicine, Hyogo College of Medicine; Institute of Physical and Chemical Research; and Second Department of Anatomy, Nara Medical University, aiming to publish research results in internationally renowned journals.

Our members can also seek to become a specialist accredited by Japanese Dental Society of Anesthesiology as a clinician after completion of the graduate school. We support continuation of research activities as a postdoctoral fellow, as well as research activities at an overseas academic institution or a partnered research institution outside the university.
