Characteristics of dental care

We provide treatment of dental caries and periodontal disease, tooth extraction, and fabrication of dentures, etc., to meet individual patient's need. We also provide periodic guidance on oral cleaning and clean tooth surface to continuously prevent dental caries and periodontal disease and maintain oral functions. We may conduct the systemic management in cooperation with Dental Anesthesiology during treatment.

1. Patients who do not like dental treatment

We provide training such as touching the treatment devices together so that the patients become familiar with dental treatment. Also, we use picture cards or a tablet-type support tool that helps the patients understand the contents or order of the treatment to remove anxiety about treatment.

2. Patients with physical disability

If a patient has difficulty maintaining the posture for receiving treatment on a normal examination chair due to physical disability or stress, we try to avoid the burden on the patient's body by placing a cushion, etc. We also have a private room large enough to place a wheelchair. If a patient cannot move from a wheelchair to the examination chair, we will use a headrest that can be placed on a wheelchair so that the patient can receive treatment or oral care in a wheelchair.

3. Patients with diseases

We provide dental treatment in cooperation with attending physicians of Internal Medicine for the patients with heart disease, epilepsy, diabetes, etc. or those who are taking a lot of medicines. We may conduct the systemic management in cooperation with Anesthesiology as needed.

4. Preparation of devices such as a mouthpiece

We fabricate a sports mouth guard for athletes with disabilities. We will also fabricate a mouthpiece-type device, etc. to suck saliva continuously.

Efforts for state-of-the-art dental care

Medical support tool using virtual reality <VR>

Goggles to which VR technology is applied (BiPSEE Dental VR, BiPSEE Inc.) are used in Dentistry for Disability and Oral Health. We provide dental treatment to patients who are afraid of dental treatment or who cannot sit still for a certain time period by showing their favorite videos. With these tools, we try to take various approaches so that patients do not feel "difficulty receiving treatment" and healthcare professionals do not feel "difficulty providing treatment."
